Last night I watched The Red Eagle, a Thai "super-hero"/action movie. According to Wikipedia, it was based on a series of films from the 1960's (which I'd love to see!). Kind of had "b-movie" vibes for me. I like b-movies, so that was fine. It could have had a tighter script, if I'm being honest. I would have also liked a little bit of exploration of why Red Eagle does what he does. The subtitles... I don't know who translated, but... if this weren't a 2010 film, I would have though AI translated. It felt like it was a more literal word-for-word translation, which doesn't work well. You can follow for the most part, but then you get confused. The police detective in the film kept getting threatened with "transfer", for example. I know enough Thai to know when translations are off. Regardless, I enjoyed watching it. I kind of with there was an English dubbed version so the Rifftrax guys could do their thing with it. 😉
