Party Cookies (M&M's)

Last night I made Party Cookies, aka M&M Cookies. I've had this recipe for years, and love making it! The cookies turn out well and are always delicious. There is some versatility if you want to play with it. Try it with almond extract instead of vanilla. Or dark brown sugar instead of light. Minor changes, but they produce a good cookie. Even play with the decorations. Last night, instead of decorating with more M&M's, I used some coloured, crystallized sugar. Here's the recipe... 1 cup shortening 1 cup light brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 eggs 2 1/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 pound M&M's Blend shortening and sugars. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Stir in M&M's (reserve some if you are decorating with them, or stir them all in and decorate with coloured sugars). Custom Bokeh-Style Print Giveaway

Bokeh is defined by Wikipedia as: the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". Of course, using digital image editing programs, you can create your own Bokeh-style effects. I have taken to this, and have had a lot of fun with it!
